KMGA OBJECTIVES To PROMOTE meat goats as a viable source of long term, stable income in agricultural operations To FOCUS on helping our members raise top quality meat goats To ESTABLISH group breeding plans for the improvement of meat goats To ESTABLISH several buyers of commercial goats for slaughter KMGA GOALS Ø Educate the general public about the role and the use of meat goats in American Agriculture Ø Promote environmentally responsible use of grazing lands Ø Explore long-term markets for Kansas meat goats Ø Encourage and help facilitate direct marketing strategies for the producer Ø Promote and encourage meat goats as a recognized class in livestock shows Ø Provide educational information on the principals of selection for increased reproduction and weight gain Ø Offer opportunities for the purchase of high quality breeding stock through Association sanctioned sales Meetings are held the 3rd Saturday of every other month, usually at the Golden Corral restaurant in Emporia, KS. The State is divided into 4 regions, with Coordinators in each area, who also initiate meetings and activities for members. Dues are paid annually - $25.00 per voting member.
